If you decide not to view the parade from a restaurant, another fabulous venue is to rent a Duffy Boat. A Duffy Boat is an electric boat. Duffy's have a cruising speed of 5 knots. They are fully enclosed if the weather is cool and it will keep you warm - so you can see the parade up close and personal. A 21-foot Duffy boats can easily accommodate up to 12 adults. Each boat has a canopy with full window enclosures. Enjoy your favorite holiday music from their sound systems aboard each Duffy boat (this is also a great way to spend an afternoon with friends and family touring Newport Harbor). Bring appetizers and drinks to enjoy the holiday parade of lights. There are also four restaurants in Newport Harbor which offers side tie service if you would like to take the Duffy to a restaurant.

Sharon, now THIS is what makes the Newport Beach area so special. Not just driving around some neighborhood looking at lights. But watching the lighted boats from restaurants or rent a boat and go out and see it up close and personal. All on the water. Very, very cool.
Gary - thanks for commenting - it really is very cool. I have watched before from a restaurant, duffy and a friend's boat. And people go all out to decorate their homes and their yachts!
Sharon, It sounds like a wonderful event....great food and a lovely view of the lights. I hope you get to go and take some photos if you can.
Oh Man! I can't decide which restaurant is the best! They ALL sound fabulous. Seriously...this sounds like a wonderful evening to me. Have fun!! GBU~
Carole - thanks for the comment and it really is fun. The home owners that have bayfront homes decorate with lights and it really is something. I love the yachts all decorated though. Very festive!
Elizabeth - I love Billy's because I love that style of fish. It is smaller and not a chain like the others, but still wonderful!
Sharon - looks like a lot of good food and drink...and throw in a boat parade, what's not to love . Hope you have a great time
James - it really is fun and amazing at the same time. Fun to take appetizers and drinks to enjoy the festivities.
Hi Sharon,
Your Parade of Lights is the same as our Flotilla which was Friday night and I missed it--we were celebrating my Mom's birthday.
What a great list of wonderful sounding restaurants--I want to try all of them!
Cynthia - I am looking forward to it - I think we are going to be with some friends on a Duffy. Everyone loves it - honestly the town becomes alive!
This is always one of my favorite events of the year. We bundle up the kids and off we go.
Sharon: This is one of the most breath-taking sites (events) a person will ever see! Thanks for the reminder and for sharing!
Good Morning Sharon. The boat parade sounds great! I've never seen one. And I'm getting hungry just thinking about Villa Nova :)
I can only imagine how beautiful this would be! I have never seen anything like that before. Have a wonderful time - it sounds fantastic.
