Fashion Island features Project Playhouse
Homeaid Orange County's 17th Annual Project Playhouse is at Fashion Island in Newport Beach from September 6 to October 11, 2008.
The Playhouses are built by local builders including Flinton Construction, John Laing Homes, Shea Homes, UCI Facilities Management Team, W Custom Homes, Wahoo's Fish Taco and Friends, Waterpointe Homes and William Lyon These Playhouses are built by the local builders, and the proceeds benefits Homeaid Orange County.
The Playhouses are absolutely amazing. There is incredible detail with design, finish, roofs, doors and windows - they are literally small scale homes with spectacular features. There is landscaping to go along with the theme of the Playhouse. Each Playhouse is built differently with differnet design and architecture. Wahoo's Fish Taco built their playhouse as a replica of one of their restaurants. (Wahoos food is amazing - however that is for another blog post).

Sharon: These "Play" houses are spectacular! Every year the designs get better and better. Oh, to be a child with one of these, huh? Such a great event and great cause! You did a wonderful job here, explaining and showing. I hope thousands of people come out!
How amazing!! MAN...when I was a little girl...I dreamed of a playhouse like this. When my older girls were little, I designed a playhouse bed that they thought was the most incredible thing in the whole world. It was like a little, garden cottage with steps that led up to the bed. Inside, there was a little kitchen and living room. They used it until they were too big to stand up in it. These playhouses take me back to those days. What a wonderful way to raise money and awareness. GBU, Sharon!!
Kat - the playhouses are awesome, I couldn't imagine having something so amazing as one of these!
Elizabeth - I think all kids like to have a house of some sort to play in, a fort or playhouse. I would love to have had one of these!! Thanks for commenting!
Beautiful! I would love to see these playhouses and see the fine craftmanship and time put into the little homes.
Sally - these playhouses are awesome and I wish you could see them too. When they are auctioned off, ther will be some very lucky kids!!!
Hi Sharon, I think that they are doing the same thing up here in Westlake Village. I saw them building the houses last week. Very Cool.
Scott, I think it is an awesome way to raise money, and can you imagine how excited any child would be to have a playhouse like that? Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely, I just did a function at the boys and girls club and I will tell you that there is nothing like seeing a childs eyes lite up like that. Have a great evening Sharon and thanks for welcoming Tammy.
