Newport Shores in Newport Beach - The Calm after the Storm

Yesterday was such a cold and rainy day here in Newport Beach. All day it rained, and by California standards it was cold! But this morning it was so still and calm, I had to share this photo because the water does not look like it is moving at all. And a perfect reflection of the homes and trees on the Newport Shores canal.

Newport Shores in Newport Beach

This photo was taken in Newport Shores in Newport Beach, and this is the Canal that many homes are located on in Newport Beach. Over the years, I have seen the residents enjoy kayaking in the Canal, and now I see stand up paddle boarding as the activity of choice. Because it was a cold storm, the local mountains did get a dusting of snow, and you can see that in the distance.

Sharon

Those are beautiful photos, especially the one of the water. Such a contrast from sea to mountains.

Hi Sharon, It looks like a mirror. Awesome photo. Even with a tripod I do not have any that are that still. It was still very wet today down here, though it didn't rain, it took hours for the water to dry up. Guessing we had quite a rain storm in the night. We had dense white mornning fog that felt like it was misting in the middle of it.

Sharon, what a great photo  you could turn it upside down and it would be just as clear. BTW it was pouringdown here in Marina Del Rey as well, did mostly phone and computer work:)

Sharon, I really love the second picture!  Wow it is beautiful and one of the things that I love when I visit Southern California, in the Winter you have the mountains with snow on them and by our standards really nice, warm weather!
