Balboa Island Ferry in Newport Beach, CA

The Balboa Island Ferry is a ferry which transports autos, pedestrians and bicycles to and from Balboa Island to the Balboa Peninsula. The Balboa Island Ferry has been in existence since 1919.

It is a short trip - literally taking just a few minutes but it is scenic just the same. Enjoy viewing the beautiful yachts in Newport Harbor as well as the stunning homes with line Balboa Island and the Balboa Peninsula.

Often times you will see sea life as well, such as seals. Also, view the Balboa Pavilion as well as the fun zone on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach.

The Balboa Island Ferry drivers are very skilled navigating through the boat traffic especially during the busy summer months and the prevailing wind as well.

The hours of operation for the Balboa Island Ferry is as follows:

Regular Hours
Sunday through Thursday: 6:30 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Friday and Saturday: 6:30 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.

Summer Hours:
Daily: 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.

So whether you are visiting Newport Beach or you reside here, take the Ferry and enjoy the ride!!

Sharon - I cant believe that I've actually been to Balboa Island - this past August actually. I saw some of the prettiest homes, sitting right on the water. The landscaping was beautiful.

I can only dream of retiring in a place like this. It's like heaven on Earth for me.
