The Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Dana Point, CA

The Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Dana Point

The 33rd Annual Turkey Trot  helps to raise money for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The Turkeytrot will be held in Dana Point on Thanksgiving Day. They are expecting approximately 12,000 runners to participate in this race.

The Turkey Trot begins at 7am on Thursday, November 25, 2010. There is a 10K which starts at 7am, and the 5K Masters starts at 9:30 am. There is no race day registration for the 10K, so if you want to participate you can register online.

The registration for the event begins on Wednesday from 10 am to 5 pm at the Dana Point harbor. Be sure you arrive early.  Some of the participants run in costume as there is also a costume contest as well. You can also register online.

The cost for the event is: $45 for the 5K, and $20 for the kids race on race day.

This is a great way to raise money for the Second Harvest Food Bank, and to get some exercise before your Thanksgiving Dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Hi Sharon, I am cooking so this kind of event leaves me out but this still sounds like an event that many others can attend and participate in. Besides it is a great cause so that is reason enough on our special day of Giving Thanks
