48th Annual Sandcastle Contest in Corona del Mar

This Sunday, October 4th, 2009 is the 48th annual Sandcastle Contest in Corona del Mar which will be held right on the beach. If you would like to participate in this event, you can download this form and enter the contest. There are three different entry fees - if you enter as a family, the entry fee is $30, and if you enter as a business, the fee is $40. If you enter in the Master Class (these are considered Architectural firms), the fee is $60.00. Here are some photos from last year. This one entrant created a "sand-witch"!

Whether you are participating as a fan or if you enter the contest to create a sandcastle, it is an event not to be missed. The details in these sandcastles are amazing. Last year, there were some themed towards the Olympics, and there were also some Halloween sandcastles. And it is just another great opportunity to enjoy the beach and enjoy the beauty of Corona del Mar. Also, enjoy an opportunity to meet up with some new friends.

Sharon, This is an event I would love to watch...people are so CREATIVE! I love your profile picture too.
I love events like this, it is amazing that people can do this... I am slightly challenged on sand castles.
Carole - I too love events like this, and the people are very creative and talented.
Kim - I watched them build them and they are amazing how they create the structures.
That first picture looks like the view from a condo that we used to own with a couple of business partners a decade ago.
Those look like they would be fun to make, it would be hard to watch the tide wash them away. Amazing photos and such a beautiful location! :)
