Race for the Cure Finish Line

Race for the Cure Finish Line

The  Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure  was held at Fashion Island in Newport Beach yesterday September 27, 2009. I participated in this event with my family, and what an awesome experience. The attendance for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure was approximately 30,000 people. There were participants racing in honor of others who are survivors, and there were survivors as well that raced.

It was a foggy morning in Newport Beach, and there were actually two races, one began at 7:30 am and the other one began at 9:45 am. Also, at 9am, there was an dedication ceremony to the survivors of this disease. By 12:00 noon yesterday, over $2.5 million dollars had been raised. I will continue to support this organization and event every year going forward.

Good for you, Sharon.  I have participated in the Revlon Run/Walk for Cancer (held the day before Mother's Day) many times.  It is such an amazing experience.  And the Susan G Komen Foundation is a fantastic cause.  It's absolutely awe-inspiring.  Way to go!

Hi Sharon,

You look absolutely beautiful in your "pink" at the event.  Looks like you had quite a crew. This is one of my all time favorites, I've done this spectacular event many times. And the vendor event, it's always been one of the best around, so I'm assuming it still is.

As for the big bucks raised, well done. EVERY single dollar is important in the fight for all cancers. Every single day they're are new break throughs and that will continue. Progress for one type can be progress for all!
