If you are considering a day activity, why not hop on the Catalina Island Flyer and visit Catalina Island. Catalina Island has so many activities, and things to do. It is a little more than an hour, and you will be in beautiful Catalina Island! Enjoy the beautiful Newport Harbor and all the boats in that are there in Newport Beach.
