Are you considering selling your Newport Beach home? If you are, here are a few tips for you to consider before putting your home on the market. Because of the inventory, and every Newport Beach home buyer is looking for a deal, you want your home to stand out!!!
It is important that your home appeal to the majority of people, because there are truly buyers who cannot see past a major repair, or if the home is unclean.
Here are some tips for you:
- Paint interior and exterior - almost everyone notices new paint, and it makes the house look fresh and clean.
- Clean the interior, including closets, drawers.
- Clean mirrored wardrobe doors, and glass shower enclosures.
- Replace bathroom fixtures if worn out, or hard water spots are unable to be removed.
- Clean carpet, and if it is unable to be cleaned, then consider replacing it.
- De-Clutter - every room in house. Less is more!
- Touch up outside landscaping.
- Add fresh annuals outside to add color and enhance curb appeal to your Newport Beach home.
- Clean all windows and repair/replace screens if needed.
- Add house plants in strategic locations.
- If you have a dog - keep the pet's yard clean.
- If you have a cat - keep the litter box clean and out of sight.
- Consider updating bedding and add throw pillows.
- Repair any item that has been outstanding, and consider getting a home inspection prior to putting it on the market.
Most of these items can be covered by a trip to the local hardware store or Home Depot.
Another tip?? When you plant the flowers, and get the home clean and organized, then maintain it!!!! Don't forget to water the flowers, and keep in mind a showing can come at any time, and you want to have your home in "ready to show" condition. Are the beds made? Is the kitchen clean? Are there dishes in the sink? Keep in mind odors - did you cook something that maybe is offensive to someone else? If you have pets, you may want to consider taking them out when someone comes to see the house.
