Now that fall has arrived, and Orange County has experienced a few winter storms, it is time to make sure that your Newport Beach home is in tip top shape.
Here is a list of some tips:
- Change your smoke detector batteries - this is usually done two times a year with the change of daylight savings time.
- Change the filters for the HVAC.
- Clean out the leaves in your rain gutters, and make sure water is diverted away from your home.
- Make sure there is no area near the foundation of your home that water can pool.
- Clean windows and screens if you live near the ocean and the salt air can corrode the frames.

- Make sure you have no roof leaks, and if you suspect one have it inspected by a qualified roofing professional.
- Change the water filter in refrigerator - most newer refrigerators have a sensor, but to make sure the water has been filtered for both drinking water and for ice.
