New Year's Eve is coming up this weekend  and hopefully you west coasters have already planned your Newport Beach New Year’s Eve festivities. There are many of pre-planned New Years Eve events in the Newport Beach area, and I would recommend making your plans right away so you can have a great New Year’s Eve and bring in 2012.

Consider a dinner at 930 Sushi in Newport Beach, and enjoy some delicious sushi.

If you are considering dining in Corona del Mar, try out the Quiet Woman. It is a personal favorite.

4. If you think you are saving money by going to the Listing Agent, keep in mind that the commission has already been established when the Listing Agreement is signed – so that means the listing agent will be paid commission on both sides of the transaction.

 

5. Your buyer’s agent will make you aware of new listings as they come available, and often times have pocket listings as well (listings that are not in the MLS).

Linda Isle is a beautiful guard gated community located in Newport Beach. There is a guard gate, and a bridge to get onto the island. Linda Isle is shaped like a horse shoe and all the homes are designed to be bay front. Linda Isle in Newport Beach is a yacht's man dream location with bay front homes and incredible bay front views.

The architecture on Linda Isle in Newport Beach is varied, and the bay front homes are incredible.

Currently, there are 11 active listings on Linda Isle in Newport Beach, and there was one sale in November, 2011. All of the active listings are standard sales, with the exception which is owned by a relocation company.

Today is Christmas Eve and I am writing this post to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season. I was walking around Fashion Island today enjoying the holiday and wanted to share a photo of the Fashion Island Christmas Tree.

Cameo Shores in Corona del Mar, Market Update November, 2011

Cameo Shores in Corona del Mar is a beautiful community of homes located in Corona del Mar. Cameo Shores in Corona del Mar is located on the ocean side of Coast Highway, and there are approximately 170 homes sites in this location.  This Corona del Mar  neighborhood was designed to be terraced so that all the homes maintain their spectacular ocean views (with the exception of the uppermost street which does not have ocean views). And also for the home owners in Cameo Highlands in Corona del Mar to have ocean views as well.

December Season of Sharing - Looking for the Perfect Christmas Gift in Newport Beach?

Are you looking for the perfect Christmas gift? Well then, why not consider adopting an animal from your local shelter. I am a dog person, so I can talk more about dogs, but I know there are many cats and kittens which need homes as well.

A puppy or dog provides great companionship, is non-judgmental, and adds to the house hold. In my opinion, dogs are like family members!! And in my household, our dog is treated as a family member.Home for a dog

If you cannot think of that special or perfect Christmas gift - then consider adopting an animal. You would be helping out the animals along with the shelters who try so hard to find these animals homes.

Here are a couple of local resources for you, and I follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Help them out by following them, you never know if someone on your feed is looking for an animal!! Lets help out these babies!

Animals for Angels Network is a nation wide organization and helps find animals homes utilizing social media.

You can also follow them on Twitter. 

And honestly, I feel for any animals which are in a shelter. They deserve to have a holiday too. I know every year I like to include my dog Patrick with the holiday season. And he definitely contributes.! He is hilarious!

I hope you will consider adopting a dog or cat if you are looking for a holiday gift.

I have included these in the December Season of Sharing contest because there are so many animals which need homes, and these animals can bring happiness to those who adopt them.

December Season of Sharing - The Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA 2012

The 2012 Rose Parade is an annual tradition held in Pasadena, CA. I have fond memories of the Rose Parade because it was a family tradition - on New Year's Day to get up and watch the parade. We saw it live also many times, camping out along the parade route prior to the parade. One of the funnest nights I remember was when my Dad parked his motorhome right along Colorado Boulevard, and the whole family sat on top of the motor home watching the parade. Rose Parade, 2012

So, to this day, I enjoy watching the Rose Parade on New Year's Day and consider it a tradition. I think the floats are so beautiful and they have evolved over the years.

This Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA will be held on January 2, 2012 and it begins at 8am. The Grand Marshall for the 2012 Rose Parade is J.R. Martinez who is a retired soldier, actor and he was recently the Dancing with the Stars champion. Enjoy watching all the floats, equestrian units and marching bands who come from all over the country. Enjoy the college comaraderie as well.

The Rose Parade this year is sponsored by Honda.

Newport Beach Short Sale Market Update | November, 2011

The Newport Beach real estate market has both foreclosures, and short sales for sale . The definition of a short sale is when a bank or lien holder lender agrees to accept a discounted payoff on a loan balance as a result of  either economic or a financial hardship on the part of the mortgagor.

There are more short sales for sale in the Newport Beach area than foreclosures. In November, there are five active REO listings in Newport Beach. The short sale market in the Newport Beach area has many variables. There are both back up and pending status, and some of these short sales may not get approved by the lenders. If that is the case, then the property may go back to the bank.

There are factors which influence Newport Beach short sales and some of the considerations are as follows:

1. Actual hardship
2. Lien(s) on the property
3. Back HOA dues
4. Back property taxes

In Newport Beach, there are currently 45 active listings, 28 in back up, 10 pending, and there have been three sales during the month of the November.

Newport Beach REO/Bank Owned Market Update | November, 2011

Newport Beach REO home buyers usually face the challenge of competing with multiple offers on the properties. Also, Newport Beach REO home buyers are competing with cash buyers as well.

Newport Beach currently has an inventory of REO or bank owned homes. Currently, there are five active listings, three in back up, four pending, and there have been four sales Newport Beach bank owned sales.
