Christmas In and Around Newport Beach

The holiday season is here in Newport Beach, and the decor that exists is incredible. Last night was the finale of the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. Despite the rain and chilly weather, it did not dampen anyone’s spirits. I was fortunate enough to view the parade two of the nights. The decor was amazing. Last week, I saw the boat parade at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach at the Prudential Holiday party.  Below is a photo of the tree at the Balboa Bay club in Newport Beach.

The decor on the yachts was beautiful for the Newport Beach Christmas parade of lights.

Welcome Home to Altezza in Newport Coast

This tuscan style community in Newport Coast was built by Taylor Woodrow Homes in 1996.  Altezza in Newport Coast is a gated community and has approximately 110 condos.

Trovare in Newport Coast, Market Update

September 1, 2010 – December 14, 2010

Trovare is a gated community which is located in Newport Coast. The homes in Trovare are condos and the style of architecture is mediterranean. There are approximately 168 condos in the builder tract, and there are six different floor plans. The square footage for the condos range in size from 1094 square feet to 1742 square feet. There are two floor plans which offer three bedrooms, and the other floor plans have two bedrooms.

Trovare in Newport Coast was orignally built  from 1994 to 1996. Some of the condos do have ocean views, and there are some which have city lights and mountain views. Trovare offers a salt water private pool, spa, and fireplace for community  gatherings. Trovare has private tennis courts for the sports enthusiast.

Currently, there is one active listing, two in back up, and there has been one sale since September 1, 2010 which was on Sorrento, and it sold for $565,000.

A Day at the River Jetty in Newport Beach

The river jetty in Newport Beach, is located between the west side of Newport Beach, and on the other side is Huntington Beach. Residents and visitors bring their dogs to run and play at the jetty.

Today, the weather is incredible and a great beach day with temperature in the 70’s (water temp was cool  – the surfers were all wearing wetsuits). There were people were laying on the beach soaking up the sun, and the dogs were running through the water retrieving sticks or balls.  There are other bark parks and of course Dog Beach for places to take your pooch to run. in the Orange County area.

I took my dog Patrick down to the jetty today because the weather was so nice, and he was in need of exercise. So, at first, he had to pose . . . .

And now, its game on!

He charges up to me, to pounce!

Many of the dogs were trying to get this toy from each other! It was pretty funny!

My dog prefers to chase (and chew on) sticks, and so do many other of the dogs.

After some great exercise, time to go home. 

The river jetty is a fun place to visit with friends and neighbors. Many people come from all over to bring their furry friends to play. The river jetty in Newport Beach is walking distance from Newport Shores in Newport Beach, and close to the Frog House (local surf shop). The river jetty is also a very popular surf spot.

Experience the Beauty of a Newport Beach Sunset

Last evening, after the coastal fog had burned off, there were some clouds that created an unbelievable sunset. The colors kept changing, and the sky was vibrant with an array of colors.

I took these photographs last evening in Newport Shores in Newport Beach. Newport Shores is surrounded by the canal and the level goes up and down with the tide.

The sky was truly nature’s palette.

Today in Newport Beach does not feel like winter at all. There is no coastal fog to burn off and the skies are clear, and we are expecting temperatures in the high 70’s. It definitely feels like summer here in Newport Beach.

The Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade – 2010

The Newport Beach holiday boat parade of lights is will be held this week on December 15 to December 19, 2010. It is an event which is hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, this is an event not to be missed.

The Newport Beach Holiday boat parade theme this year’s is  “Lights, Camera…Christmas in Newport Beach!”

The Newport Beach boat parade starts off at Bay Island in Newport Beach promptly at 6:30 pm, and ends in the same area at approximately 9:00 pm. There are many of the multi million dollar yachts are decorated with incredible light display. There are kayaks, and other vessels decorated as well. It is awesome to see the incredible effort that goes into this event. In previous years, some of the participants have spent as much as $50,000 to decorate their yachts.

There are many locations to view the boat parade in Newport Beach, including the Billy's at the Beach, Balboa Bay Club, Villa Nova, Chart House, and Rusty Pelican to name a few. Also, on the Balboa Peninsula, you can also view the parade from several bay side beaches. Make sure you dress warmly, and arrive early in order to secure parking.
